The Four Headed Mountain

Daddy's alternate title: The Mountain Tragically Missing James Madison

The proud Junior Ranger

If you see a picture of Mount Rushmore, the mountain is a lot more different than the picture. In the pictures it is usually closer up. The actual mountain is really far away.

Mount Rushmore was the first place that we did the Junior Ranger program and got our first Junior Ranger badge. It took fourteen years to complete the sculpture. They made it with all different kinds of tools. Gutson Borglum was the director of making the sculptor. They did 90% of it using dynamite.

At Mount Rushmore I bought a Junior Ranger hat.

  3. I just caught up on your blog! You're not the only one challenged with finding time for the computer! ;) What fabulous adventures. Thanks for sharing them with us. Day two looks really meaningful. Laura has been one of my favorites since I was five! Mark, Andrew, and Katie Beth, you have done a really nice job of recording your adventures! Safe travels!
